LUDLOW SHOP

The Ludlow Shop, founded by Madison Ludlow, is a love letter to Southern California and the American West. Ludlow started the shop on Instagram in 2019—where she would share her recent San Francisco estate sale hauls and antique finds with the world. As the business began to grow, she relocated to San Diego, leaving her career as a buyer and merchandiser for a sustainable fashion brand to pursue The Ludlow Shop full-time.

Ludlow is dedicated to curating a collection of true American vintage; mainly early 1900s, 30s, and 70s goods. Sustainability has always been a driving force for Ludlow, as a teenager, she took sewing-classes and went thrift shopping instead of hunting down the hottest trends at the mall like many of her peers. The Ludlow Shop considers one’s personal imprint on the earth and sustainable-thinking goes all the way down to the compostable packaging the shop uses for orders. In addition to Ludlow’s expert vintage and antique collection, she also upcycles vintage quilts [some 100+ years old] to make stunning one-of-a-kind jackets and coats. These pieces are thoughtfully designed by Ludlow herself, cut and sewn into modern silhouettes—sometimes featuring a hallowbone sheepskin collar or deadstock tortoise button closures. The Ludlow Shop also carries an in-house, limited production made-to-order clothing line [beachy bloomers, sundresses, trench coats, etc.] from 100% cotton deadstock fabrics—a true ode to the beloved Golden State.
