How would you describe your style?

Easy, a bit masculine, worn-in.

What is your fashion mood for spring?

I’ve literally worn the same thing for a year so I’m in the mood to take risks and experiment with my style this spring. and I’m ready to play with statement pieces, a bit of color… who knows, maybe even pattern. 😉

What's on your wishlist?

I’ve been jonesing for a classic Chanel bag in this color forever. I want to take this typical status symbol and wear it in, beat it up, get it dirty, take it from set to dinner, to the beach… It wouldn’t look like this when I was done with it.

How does shopping resale play into your own style?

As the EIC of Display Copy — resale plays enormously into my own style. I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t bought the occasional pair of pants from the hardware store (yes, the hardware store) or stolen a new tee or two from my husband but for the most part I’ve only shopped resale for the last few years. For me it’s much more rewarding to search for one-of-a-kind pieces that only I will have and to know that those pieces have a story and a soul that live on with me.

What are some tips you have to being better to the environment?

Have a relationship with it. Stand barefoot in the grass… stare at the sky...dig in the dirt...touch the bark of a tree. If it’s not personal then it’s hard to be motivated to do anything. If you have an active relationship with nature then it breaks your heart to see the planet suffering and moves you to do the things that are in your capacity to do. That’s different for everyone.

What’s one tip you have for shopping resale?

Go down the rabbit hole and don’t let resale fomo drive you into an impulse purchase. Use the “obsessions” or “wishlist” button and “like” as many things as pull on your heart strings. Then go through your selection and see what the themes are. Edit out the lesser pieces. Step away and come back to it. Get super judge-y now. Ask yourself, is the color perfect? Is the material amazing or is the photo making it look better than it really is? Is this a forever piece or just a passing fancy? Choose the pieces that make the grade. It’s empowering to be selective and you’ll likely love those pieces forever.
