Everyday and forever. Finding the perfect pair of jeans can be a life-long search, start by looking back at classic American designers from the 1970s-1990s for timeless denim cuts.

The original Levi's are still our go-to; 501’s for a classic straight leg, 517 for a bootcut with a 70s feel, 511 slim fit and cut cropped, 512’s for a carrot leg or 550 for a boyfriend fit.

Brands to look for: Levis, Wrangler, Lee, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, GAP

Key decades: 1970s, 1980s, 1990s

Fabrics: Cotton, or cotton/elastane.

Colors: Any blue denim wash, black/grey, white/ cream.

Style notes: Know your waist measurement and go from there.
